Frequently Asked Questions

Why Use Our Goggles?

You can't ski what you can't see!
Prescription Ski Goggles by Uvex and Panoptx®

UV-EXclusion

The UV filter is the most important feature of any ski goggle.

UV Rays

  • represent the greatest hazard to the human eye
  • can cause the cornea to sunburn causing snow blindness
  • after prolonged exposure can result in permanent damage to the retina
  • 300 times more intensive at 10,000 feet than at sea level
  • become 150 times more effective on snow
  • lose very little of their effect on overcast days
  • have a higher concentration during winter months

Are the goggles helmet compatible?

Yes, all of the goggles we sell fit very well with any helmet we have tried them with.

Are the goggles suitable for children?

Kids wearing glasses have a really difficult time, especially if they are head first in snow a lot. Whether or not your child can wear these goggles depends on the size of the childs head and width of face. I can mail you a demo pair of the Uvex goggles for your child to  try on. My youngest customer is a 6 year old who loves his uvex goggles, however I have had a 17 year old return her order stating they wouldn't stay up on a small nose.

What color of lens should I order?

I usually recommend the amber for an all around great color. It picks up the flat spots on the run on dull days, yet  works well on a sunny day. We can tint the lenses any shade, so if you ski at night a lot, we can make them a very pale shade.

Can I order Bi-focals?

You can order PanOptx windless eyewear in bifocals. We will need your seg.height with your order. Unfortunately we cannot make these progressive.

How long will it take to get my goggles?

If you haven't got your order in 2 weeks, e-mail us at: goggles@ski-n-see.com

I have a condition called dry eye syndrome, would PanOptx windless eyewear be suitable for me?

We have sold PanOptx® for use indoors to protect the eyes from common house dust and air conditioning breezes, for use on airplane flights to protect eyes from the air outlets overhead, to protect the eyes from automobile air conditioning, and of course from all of the elements outdoors.  We have had nothing but satisfactory reports from these users.

"According to Harvard's Scepens Eye Institute, it is estimated that 10 million Americans suffer from dry eye, a disease that can lead to scarring or ulceration of the cornea.  Wind significantly contributes to discomfort for sufferers of dry eye, defined as a decline of the quality or quantity of tears. "PanOptx are designed with a patented Orbital Seal to protect the eye from both the damaging effects of wind and UV Rays" Suzanne Davidson, CEO of PanOptx "
